Suicide Attacks Hit Russia for Second Time in Three Days

Two more suicide bombers unleashed coordinated attacks against police in southern Russia today, killing 12,  just two days after two female suicide bombers attacked the Moscow subway system, murdering 39.

The blasts today come after Chechen rebel Doku Umarov personally claimed responsibility in an online video for Monday’s attacks in Moscow.

Senate Hearing Weighs Closing Video Surveillance Loophole

A Senate field hearing in Philadelphia today examined whether a decades-old wiretapping statute needs revision in light of new and powerful video surveillance technologies empowered by the Internet. The hearing stems from a pending case in Pennsylvania where school administrators allegedly spied on a student in his bedroom using the webcam embedded in his school-issued laptop.

Urban Area Perspective – Keeping Phoenix Ready
